Today brought the sad and shocking news that the current UK Tour of Bonnie & Clyde the musical would immediately close prematurely, cancelling many of its planned tour dates.
The show, which originally starred Jeremy Jordan and Laura Osnes on Broadway, was subsequently seen in the West End with Jordan Luke Gage and Frances Mayli McCann in the titular roles.
While the producers cited low ticket sales as an explanation for the cancellation, a closer look at the show’s UK life may uncover challenging realities about the theatre industry in 2024…
